Dungeon Legends 2: Tale of Light and Shadow is an independent work by Łukasz Radziejewicz, utilizing artificial intelligence to “animate” non-playable characters that can be interacted with like a chatbot. The game is a creation of the Polish developer Łukasz Radziejewicz, who leads the Dreaming Wizard Games studio.
The protagonist’s only chance to save themselves from doom is to obtain an ancient artifact called the Dragon’s Blood Crystal. The game features twelve dungeon levels with various enemies such as giant spiders, bats, and skeletons, which can be defeated using melee combat or magic, along with 700 types of items. The protagonist in the game is described by four main statistics – strength, dexterity, endurance, and magic – determining factors like damage dealt, chances to hit, and health or mana points. These parameters can be improved by gaining experience levels, consuming potions, or using equipment.
The developer’s main goal was to create realistic conversations, where choices influence the storyline and the attitude of non-playable characters. The encountered characters are designed to remember our decisions and react to them, potentially leading to additional missions.
